As we celebrate Memorial Day this weekend, let us take time out to remember the reason for this holiday. It is a time to remember and express our appreciation to those who have served us in the armed forces to protect our liberty and freedoms. Many have given their lives in that pursuit. Others have returned home with physical wounds and handicaps which have altered their lives in a significant way. Most came home with emotional wounds that we will never see. All who served gave something of themselves. For this we should be ever grateful.
Join us at Bon Appetit as we give honor to those who have served. Our front window is decorated with pictures of men and women who have ties to our area who have served our nation. Take a moment to pause and reflect as you look at their faces. Perhaps you could offer a silent prayer of thanks or a moment of silence in appreciation for what they have done.
Among the items in the slideshow below are some unique pieces including a Ridgeway Cenis Dish manufactured October 9, 1881, green candle holders, an amber square refrigerator box, an iris candlabra, and a 13 piece chocolate set from the German Democratic Republic.
